Guerra works in the long and rich tradition of superior Cuban print-makers, and is regarded as a master in "colorgrafica," a hybrid printmaking and etching technique and is known for his highly expressive and imaginative works of art. He has an academic foundation that can be seen in each of his pieces. He studied at the Vocational Arts School; the National Arts School (ENA), where he specialized in engraving; and graduated in 1995 from the Higher Institute of the Arts (ISA). He has held a score of solo and collective exhibitions on the Island, in the US and Europe. He currently teaches at the Instituto Superior de Arte.
