Edward Curtis (American, 1868-1952). Gelatin silver print photograph depicting a portrait of early Hollywood star Violet LaPlante (also known as Violet Avon). Hand colored by Emma G. Hoffman. Signed in negative along the lower right. Inscribed and autographed "to Wright, Campbell and Girder, most sincerely, Violet Avon" along the lower right. Stamped by Hoffman along the verso.

Condition Report: The emulsion appears smooth with no breaks. The photo is mounted to cardboard. There are minute losses and wear along the extreme edges. A few light surface marks throughout the verso. The work is not framed.
