Edward F. Caldwell And Co Silver Plated Cigarette

DESCRIPTION: Edward F. Caldwell silver plated cigarette humidor with renaissance revival design. Piece consists of a silver-toned, three compartment humidor proper encased in fabric-lined wood attached to the lid and sides of which are ornate, elaborate renaissance-style designs. Lid of humidor proper is decorated with a blank oval in the center framed by scroll and curvilinear motifs and a curvilinear and foliage design in each of its four corners; handle is also decorated with a carved foliage motif. Hinges of the lid of humidor proper are attached to hinges of outer lid. Outer decorations include vase, crest, fruit, floral, torch, putti, and green man motifs framed by curvilinear and foliage designs. Underside of piece is lined with red fabric.
