probably 26th dynasty, (664-525 B.C.), fragmentary figure, upper body wrapped in shroud with emerging hands holding a crook and flail, finely incised collar and false plaited beard, wearing the atef crown fronted by a uraeus cobra symbol, mounted on marble plinth, attached labels reads "Mathias Komor/World of Art/H69/New York" and "600 B.C./ORISIS (sic)", bronze, 9-1/2 in., overall, 11-1/8 in. including baseProvenance: Mathias Komor, New York, New York; Private Collection, purchased circa 1960's; by descent in family
Condition Report: two holes verso, possible due to firing flaws, several small areas of accretion verso, possible firing flaw on chest, several small spots of verdigris at small crack or separation of bronze at right hand side, light abrasions front left, overall dark natural patinaÿ
