[ translate ]

**First Time At Auction**

Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate to Late Dynastic Period, 21st to 31st Dynasty, ca. 1070 to 332 BCE. A lovely, wearable necklace formed from dozens of faience beads with a discoid wadjet (also wedjat or Eye of Horus) pendant - a powerful symbol of protection - in the middle. Displayed in hues of cobalt, sage, forest, ash, slate, periwinkle, sienna, and sky, the beads are presented in tubular and seed forms that are strung in an alternating pattern along the modern stringing. Capped with a silver-plated clasp, this is a gorgeous example of modern jewelry meets ancient art! Size (wadjet pendant): 0.7" W x 0.625" H (1.8 cm x 1.6 cm); (necklace): 17.75" L (45.1 cm)

Provenance: private Corpus Christi, Texas, USA estate collection, acquired 1960s to 1970s

All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.

A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany all winning bids.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to recent increases of shipments being seized by Australian & German customs (even for items with pre-UNESCO provenance), we will no longer ship most antiquities and ancient Chinese art to Australia & Germany. For categories of items that are acceptable to ship to Australia or Germany, please contact us directly or work with your local customs brokerage firm.

#165263
