Egyptian Faience Bead Necklace

Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate to Late Dynastic Period, 21st to 31st Dynasty, ca. 1070 to 332 BCE. A stylish necklace of a wearable style formed from dozens of petite tubular faience beads that are covered in lustrous layers of colorful glaze. The singular strands that rest behind the neck trace down to modern fluted spacer caps, and beneath the necklace splits into six even strands of narrow beads. Strung in modern times and capped with a silver-plated loop and lobster clasp combo, this is a fashionable necklace ready to complement any outfit! Size (necklace): 18.6" L (47.2); (largest bead): 0.325" L x 0.1" W (0.8 cm x 0.3 cm)

Condition Report: Strung in modern times and wearable as shown. Faience beads are ancient, and stringing, silver spacer caps, and silver-plated components are modern. Minor nicks and abrasions as well as fading to glaze pigment on some beads, otherwise intact and very good. Smooth patina and great traces of original glaze pigment throughout.
