Egyptian Glazed Faience Ushabti

Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A mold-formed faience ushabti of a petite form covered in blue-green glaze. The mummiform figure stands atop an integral plinth and holds two implements in crossed hands. The broad face has puffy cheeks, cupped ears, and a false beard, all beneath a tripartite wig. A faint column of inscribed hieroglyphs is shown in front of the legs. Size: 0.8" W x 3" H (2 cm x 7.6 cm)
Provenance: private Dunn collection, Coral Springs, Florida, USA, acquired in the 1990s

Condition Report: Minor nicks and pitting to base, legs, body, and head, with softening to finer details and inscribed hieroglyphs, and fading to areas of glaze pigment, otherwise intact and very good. Nice traces of original glaze pigment throughout.
