Elton John's Windshield-Wiper Glasses

Marvelous vintage pair of ‘windshield wiper' Brevete sunglasses personally-owned and -worn by Elton John during the 1970s. The sunglasses consist of an off-white plastic frame with miniature 2.25Ë wipers connected to bridge over blue tint lenses, and a length of wire extending from base of right temple side arm to a 15-volt battery tube with lid featuring a button for activating the wipers. In fine condition, with expected signs of use._x000D_

Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks, which reads, in part: “These glasses were part of a grouping of previously stored vintage apparel belonging to Elton John. Upon moving to a new storage facility, Elton John made these glasses available to the curator. Documented images show Elton John wearing these glasses at his Virginia Water home on 20th March 1973…During this same year, Elton John would release his widely-acclaimed album, ‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.'”
