Equinoctial sundial - Mahogany - Second half 19th century
Universal sundial, of French origin, encased in mahogany case, folding gnomon, mid-19th century. Some cities with their respective latitudes are engraved on the clock face: PARIS 49; VIENNE 48; PERLIN (BERLIN) 52; CONSTANTINOPLE 41; MADRID 40 A graduated scale with latitudes is used to tilt the hour dial. A hinge is broken but still functional. Dimensions: compass diameter 6. 7 cm – mahogany case 8. 2 x 8. 2 x 2. 2 cm
