An impressive oil on canvas depicting The Immaculate Conception Of The Mother Of God. The painting depicts The Madonna with a halo formed by stars, whilst standing on a globe which represents the whole world. Beneath The Madonna's feet is a crescent moon representing Her purity. The Madonna is also trampling a serpent with an apple in its mouth; this is a representation of the serpent in the Garden Of Eden and original sin. The Madonna takes central position within this painting holding Her hands together in prayer whilst gazing into the heavens. The Madonna is surrounded by clouds with cherubs floating in the air holding certain attributes; for instance, a Lilly to symbolise Her purity and a crown of stars to represent Her as Queen of heaven. A dove surmounts the crown symbolising the Holy Ghost.
