[i-iv; i-]ii; [7-]8-285[-286] + 8pp. publisher’s ads at end. Frontispiece. (Generally excellent but with light creasing to pp.188/189, and with browned areas to pp. 284/285). Original pictorial light brown cloth, the upper cover and spine blocked in gilt and colors (very light soiling to spine).

An excellent copy of the first edition – an early work by the prolific Pulitzer prize-winning novelist.
