Extremely rare Egyptian wooden Apis Bull figure

An extremely rare Egyptian wooden depiction of the Apis Bull, Late Period, c. 664- 332 BC, well-carved from a single piece of cedar, the sacred bull is naturalistically modeled and depicted striding forward with left legs advanced, the head detailed with hole for a crown, the eyes retain remnants of original inlay and the nostrils are indicated; hole through the base of the neck, perhaps to fasten a broad collar in another material. L: 4 1/4 in (10.8 cm). Well-preserved, the wood now a nice chocolate brown color. Custom black wood base. Ex Christie's New York, June 2014, Lot 22; Ex Sotheby Parke Bernet New York, September 1976, lot 276; Ex collection of Michel Abemayor.
