F. Barbedienne Fondeur bronze Bacchus statue of Antinous as Dioniso Offered for sale is a fine quality French bronze sculpture of Antinous as Dioniso manufactured by the Barbedienne Foundry. This wonderful gilded bronze of a young Bacchus sculpture dates to the second half of the 19th century and is complete with foundry marks as shown. Ferdinand Barbedienne started the foundry in the mid-19th century and operated in Paris until his death in 1892.
