FINE AND RARE CARVED AND POLYCHROME PAINT-DECORATED PINE COMICAL TOBACCONIST BUST TRADE FIGURE, ATTRIBUTED TO THE SAMUEL ROBB WORKSHOP, NEW YORK, CIRCA 1880

cigar is replaced.

Height 24 in. by Width 19 in. by Depth 8 in.

Condition Report:
In overall very fine condition. Surface shows various campaigns of historic paint, embedded dirt and aged varnish commensurate with age and use. Shallow half-inch chip out of tip of hat proper right and one-inch loss to proper left sleeve cuff. Vertical hairline shrinkage cracks from top of hat to jacket collar proper right, and two on either side of proper left eyebrow. Shrinkage crack in back of head. Cigar replaced. Proper right arm reattached at elbow.
