Sense of taste Oil on panel Size 91 x 71 cm Unfortunately, the authorship of this painting has not yet been clearly established. Some researchers point out that it is stylistically very close to the first paintings by Jan Miense Molenaer dating from 1630, as well as the Violinist from private collection (Weller, Dennis: Jan Miense Molenaer, Dutch Golden Age painter, New York 2002, p. 32, fig. 5.) and the Girl with the Flute (private collection, Canada). The young man's attitude is clearly influenced by Gerard van Honthorst's 1623 Jolly Violinist from the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.
