Condition Report:
This work is available to view at Sotheby’s, New Bond Street, 13 – 18 September (weekdays 9am – 4.30pm; weekend 12-5pm).

The panel is uncradled, flat and stable, the paint surface is slightly dirty and the varnish is clear. There are no major damages visible to the naked eye. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals scattered fine lines and small spots of retouching in the sky, as well as retouching along all four margins. The main composition is for the most part untouched, and the painting is in overall good condition.
