FONTENAY, A LATE 19TH CENTURY JADEITE JADE, RUBY, DIAMOND, PEARL AND ENAMEL CRANE BROOCH CIRCA 1860 The shaped jadeite panel with an applied crane, pavé set with rose cut diamonds, with pavé set ruby and black enamelled legs, standing amongst enamelled foliage, within a circular cut ruby and white, black and pink tipped enamel foliate border, suspending a silver tone pearl with a ruby and diamond accented cap, the reverse stamped FONTENAY FAB and F SAMPER & Co Size/dimensions: 7.6cm long, pearl 10.3mm wide Gross weight: 32.8 gramsPlease note the pearl is untested and unwarranted as natural pearl.Literature: Vever, Henri, 'French Jewellery Of The Nineteenth Century' (Tr. Some chips. Jade is of a mottled light green hue with a waxy lustre. Slightly loose in mount Pearl remains untested.
