Drum major's saber with a curved, single-and false-edged blade, with wide fuller, curved blade with the maker's inscription, "Manuf.re R.ale de Klingenthal, Mai 1823" on its back. Large, brass cross-quillon with bass-relieved decorations at the front facet, quillons with palmettes and other floral decorations; leather grip with brass wire binding; pommel shaped as a relieved lion head, the short cap decorated with palmettes and floral frames. Brass scabbard provided with two suspension hooks. featuring four plaques at the front part with bass-relieved decorations, one with a trophy of musical instruments, the other three with flowers, alternated with bands, the lower edge decorated with a lion's head in relief and wide drag adorned with palmettes and flowers; the back of the scabbard mostly smooth, signed 'Manceaux a Paris'. length 95 cm. Includes a 19th c sash mounted with gilt brass grenadiers badges, faux match cases, and fleur-de-lis shields.
