French modernist hanging lamp made in the 1950's,attributed to Mathieu Mategot , you can also Google it to find several example on other dealer's sites. It has a long arm with a simple mechanism to hold the heavy glass globe with a lens de Fresnel . Fresnel lens (/?fr?zn?l/ FREZ-n?l or /fre??n?l/ fray-NEL) is a type of compact lens originally developed by French physicist Augustin-Jean Fresnel for lighthouse ,the lens reduces the amount of material required compared to a conventional lens by dividing the lens into a set of concentric annular sections.The pendants attach to the ceiling via a conical canopy that adjoins the stem. With its clean lines and simple form this hanging lamp is a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid-Century Modern to contemporary.
Original socket in working condition Size arm rod H.32 ) glass holophane globe H.6 x D.14 , mounted H.39 ,good antique condition ,there is some scratches from normal use and some superficial oxidation ( darker spots)
