It has a long arm with a simple mechanism to hold the heavy glass globe with a lens de Fresnel . Fresnel lens (/?fr?zn?l/ FREZ-n?l or /fre??n?l/ fray-NEL) is a type of compact lens originally developed by French physicist Augustin-Jean Fresnel for lighthouse ,the lens reduces the amount of material required compared to a conventional lens by dividing the lens into a set of concentric annular sections.The pendants attach to the ceiling via a conical canopy that adjoins the stem.
