FRENCH VICTORIAN SCALLOPEDBEDLINEN - Linen - Early 20th century

A superb and almost unused bed linen. It is very generously scalloped and beautifully executed. I find it difficult these days to get scalloped bedlinen. No particular reason ,but at some stage there were plenty available. They do finish a" bed decking" perfectly though. The initials G. S. are very "thickly" almost embossed onto the linen and the letter S is "interrupted" by adding a small flower which just gives it that extra dimension. Each scallop has a small posy of a branch with leaf and flower and again the edgings are very generously finished.
