ALTHAUS, Fritz, (U.K. 19th/20th C.): "The Royal Oak, Winsford", courtyard scene with figures, this Inn is still in operation today, Watercolor, 13.75" x 21.5", signed lower right and dated 1899, titled on the back of accompanying cardboard, from the collection of Geo. Albert Smith Esq., St Ives Hunts, unframed. Consignor states that he inherited this piece from his grandmother in 1997. She lived in NYC.
Condition Report: Overall toning, some scattered spots, small piece of upper right corner missing.
