Fadjar Sidik (Surabaya, E. Java, 1930 - Yogyakarta, 2004) Studies in Abstraction #1
Fadjar Sidik is a unique painter. Although he resides in Yogyakarta, his paintings are not like what other Yogyakarta painters produce. He has used an abstraction that is unlike any other painters from Yogyakarta or painters from Bandung have done. His unique abstraction seems to have come from music and spatial observations. Although it might have originated from some sort of objective representation, the final result is a non-representational abstract depiction of a feeling or emotion.
Medium: marker on paper
