Federal Inlaid Mahogany Three-part Banquet Table, southern United States, early 19th century, the two D-shaped ends with central shell inlay and border of checkered banding, above the straight skirts inlaid with patera, urns, and stringing and lower edge of contrasting banding, all joining square tapering legs inlaid with descending bellflowers and ending in brass cap casters, the center drop-leaf section of similar design, ht. 28 1/2, wd. 45, lg. open 90 1/2 in.

Note: a typed label on an interior rail reads "Hepplewhite banquet table from the home of Emily H. Riddle. Purchased Charleston, SC."

some interior blocks replaced; brass casters appear old; some hinges moved or replaced; 3-in shrinkage crack, center section at edge; clips and tabs to join table together have been moved or altered; some old water stains to center section; drop leave slightly warped.
