A Federal style satinwood inlaid mahogany chest of drawers, Charak Furniture Company, circa 1936, the rectangular top with serpentine front and canted corners above four graduated drawers raised on French feet, the upper drawer with applied paper label inscribed THIS piece was HAND MADE / in the workshops of Charak / Furniture Co., Boston, Mass. / It is numbered 3003 / Made in Year 1936.
Dimensions:Height 32 1/4in; width 28in; depth 17 1/4in.
Provenance:From a Chester County estate.
Condition Report: Structurally sound. The top with minor dings, dents and Surface abrasions. Minor movement and scattered losses to veneers throughout, the second drawer from the bottom with a sizeable loss of veneer to the drawer front.
