Ferrari - 512 BB - Ferrari Classiche Certified - 1978

[ translate ]

This 1978 Ferrari 512BB is in excellent condition, has the coveted Ferrari Classique certificate, and belongs to one of the most important collections in Spain. The Ferrari Berlinetta Boxer (BB) is a car that was produced by Ferrari in Italy between 1973 and 1984. Replacing the front-engined Daytona, it was the first mid-engined road car to bear the Ferrari name. The car we are auctioning this time is a 512 BB from 1978. At the time this spectacular Ferrari was powered by the 5. 0-litre, twelve-cylinder, four-carburettor Weber engine delivering 340 hp through a five-speed manual gearbox. Originally this car was finished in the classic red-on-cream interior combination, but during its restoration, the owner decided to change the colours to this nice combination of Grigio Scuro with red interior and red and black Daytona seats. A combination that, although not original, is truly spectacular. This Ferrari was imported to Spain in 2017 and has had only two owners since then. The first one from 2017 to 2021; the second one from 2021 until now. It is not known how many owners it had before arriving in Spain. In 2015 this Ferrari received the Ferrari Classique certificate, also known as the "red book", which certifies that it has all its original panels, has not been modified, has not been rebuilt, has not been involved in any accidents, and it has the engine and gearbox with which it left the factory. This certificate is issued after the car has been personally inspected by an authorised Ferrari workshop and is a very difficult certificate to obtain; as the years go by, it becomes even more difficult to obtain. This "red book" certifies the condition and originality of the car in the year 2015. It has been used very little since then and is still in excellent condition. Prior to being certified, this Ferrari received a restoration of the highest standard carried out by Modena Classic Works in 2014. For a restoration of this level, it is necessary to disassemble the car completely and work on its components separately and then put it all back together again. In this way, top-quality work can be performed; be it on the bodywork, interior, chassis, or engine. In this case, absolutely everything was restored. The bodywork was completely restored and painted in Grigio Scuro. The interior was completely disassembled and restored in red finish with black Daytona inserts. The engine was completely disassembled and rebuilt. Finally, the suspension was completely refurbished and new parts were fitted. As you can see from the photos, the result of this restoration is a Ferrari 512 BB that looks and drives like new. The restoration was completed in 2014 when the car had 62,227 km on the clock and since then it has only travelled around 4,000 km. The last maintenance was carried out on 19/12/2016 at the Ferrari workshop in Barcelona (invoice attached) . Since then the car has only travelled approximately 1000 kilometres as it had 65,416 kilometres at that time. In addition, this Ferrari passed its MOT in 2020 and 2021. The last MOT expired on 27/09/2022 and a new one will be necessary. In short, this Ferrari is an excellent example of one of the most sought-after models of the Prancing Horse brand; with a very high restoration quality, an accident-free past, and the coveted Ferrari classiche certificate. In the photos, there is a complete report of the restoration of the car, as well as the certificates and the last maintenance invoice. The vehicle is located in Madrid.
