Fiat 500 My Car by FRANCIS LOMBARDI (1971)

CHASSIS N. 2736291

ENGINE: 2 CYLINDER

DISPLACEMENT: 500 CM3

POWER: 18,2 BHP

BODY: TWO DOOR SALOON

GEARBOX: MANUAL

DRIVE: LHD

VERY RARE “FUORISERIE” 500

Having been built more than 5 million of them, Fiat has made a national hero of the Nuova 500. It is a part of our panorama and our lifestyle.

Francis Lombardi was a pioneer pilot during WW1, and in 1947 he opened a coachbuilder shop in Vercelli. They specialised in modifying Fiat motor cars, such as woodie estate cars, stretched limousines, and tiny sportscars.

Between 1968 and 1971 they built two or three thousand of these quirky 500s, which had a more complete and comfortable interior and a different roof panel giving a better headroom in the back.

This “My Car” had but two owners and around 39,000 miles, and is remarkably complete having all its individual and impossible to find Francis Lombardi details, such as stainless profiles, unique hubcaps, steering wheel, opening rear windows…

In 2017 it received a light restoration with new bosy seals, renewed seats, and all the consumable parts in the engine and chassis: many invoices are available to see.

It has a new “revisione” (MOT) and a complete owner’s paperwork of the time.

This is a unique opportunity to purchase a very rare special version of the best known Italian city car!

This vehicle is in excellent mechanical condition but for safety reasons, we advise the purchaser to have it checked over before driving.
