This rare Fiat 501 has a complete and known history. The Fiat Classiche department certificate states that it was sold new on 25th May 1923 by the ‘Garage Firenze’ dealership as a bare chassis without equipment. From the history report of the car you can trace the complete history after the sale. The first registration AR-662 (the car number 662 registered in the city of Arezzo) on 25th November 1929 states that it received an open 4-seat bodywork (perhaps Torpedo or Sport 2+2 or Bateau?) . In 1938, the car was sold to a horticulturist Mr. Gori Bruno who modified it into a transport wagon for vegetables. In 1940, it was sold to Mr. Andrea Meacci, a local merchant and in 1942, it was sold to the company Gino e Giuseppe Commercianti Agricoli. In December 1954, the car was deregistered and stored in the farm’s warehouse. In the 1980s, a collector from Arezzo, Angelo Rossi, purchased the car in poor condition and decided to fully restore it, by rebuilding the bodywork and recovering original missing parts. In 1985, the car was re-registered with number plate AR-318689 and equipped with vehicle registration documents. In 1990, it was approved ASI Targa Oro as a vehicle of historical interest and was used for local rallies after the passing the technical inspection in 1998, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2016 noted on the registration document. In 2020, it was purchased after the owner’s death. The car is currently in working order and a video of the engine and the car driven on the road is available. It features a beautiful patina of an almost 40-year-old restoration, it is complete with its rare brass parts and has original engine and gearbox (as shown in photos) . Beautiful Fergat rims, recent Michelin tyres made in France and complete soft top and side windows. The odometer doesn’t work, the electrical system switches on and the car starts with the internal power button. 12v electrical system. This vehicles with documents in order and already registered in Europe are hard to find. Bidders are welcome to view and test the vehicle. It is located in Quarrata 51039, PT, Italy.
