Fine Guerrero Greenstone Head Amulet

Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Guerrero region, ca. 500 to 100 BCE. A petite head amulet of an attractive form, hand-carved from mottled sage-green stone with forest-green inclusions. The face crests along the nasal ridge and has indented eyes, full lips, tab-shaped ears, and a broad forehead. A pair of biconically-drilled suspension holes are situated atop the head and enable the head to be worn on a bracelet or necklace. A fabulous example of fine accessories from ancient Mexico!
