Appears to retain its original carved American eagle finial. Inscribed on the dial Warranted by W. Cummens, Roxbury, having spiral gilt borders, original gilded bracket below, and retaining its original eglomise panels showing the arms of the United States above and Aurora in her chariot below.

Condition Report:
The eagle finial with restored wing. The painted dial contains general craquelure and staining, and is inscribed Roxbury with an indistinct inscription above that has worn off over time. Small loss to the mahogany case on the proper left side at junction of head and throat. Eglomise panel on the throat with exposure to water, but no significant losses. Eglomise panel below with loss to the bottom of the scene. Retaining weight, pendulum, and winding key. Slight warp to the sides causing a gap between the mahogany and the giltwood molding.
