Paris: [Imprimerie de Jules Didot] chez Lefevre, 1826. 5 volumes, octavo (8 7/8 x 5 ¾ inches; 225 x 146mm). Portrait frontispiece to vol.I by H. Dupont. (Some spotting and toning). Contemporary light green French half morocco over marbled paper-covered boards, covers ruled in gilt, spines, in five compartments with false semi-raised bands, elaborately ruled and tooled in gilt, lettered in the second compartment, volumes numbered in the fourth compartment, top edges gilt (spines faded to brown, some scuffing and bumping to extremities, small area of damage to paper on one cover, see images).
An excellent edition from the ‘Collection des classiques français’ series, beautifully bound, but unfortunately the binding is unsigned. The images give a good idea of the condition of the set.
