each mallet-shaped, engraved 'CLARET' within quatrefoil labels issuing fruiting vines, the later stoppers associated
each 24.5cm. high, 9 5/8in. without stoppers, each 30.5cm. high, 12in. with stoppers

Condition Report:
One decanter with a large chip and minor bruises to rim. The later stoppers have some nicks and scratches but overall in good order.

Provenance:
Presumably Alexander, 10th Duke of Hamilton (1767–1852);
By descent to Lady Mary Louise (1884-1957), only child and principal heir of William Alexander Douglas-Hamilton, 12th Duke of Hamilton, who married in 1906 James Graham (1878-1954), Marquess of Graham who in 1925 succeeded his father as 6th Duke of Montrose;
Thence by descent.
