Collection of Five French Gilt-Bronze Boudoir Frames
ca. 1900, of various shapes and designs, including reeded or leaf-molded surrounds, three with pierced bowknot crests, one with a mauve liner mounted with a watercolor of Princess Henriette of France, after Jean Marc Nattier, and another with a green velvet liner, mounted with a watercolor of "Fountainbleu Sousle, 1st Empire", after Adrien Moreau.
smallest h. 6-7/8", w. 4-1/2"; largest h. 16-1/2", w. 13-1/4"
Provenance: Estate of Violeta Judell Van Ronzelen, Lima, Peru; New Orleans, Louisiana.
Condition Report: In generally good condition, with no losses or missing elements observed. All frames exhibit normal rubbing, wear and some light oxidation. All are freestanding except the small Louis XVI-style frame with ribbon crest. All have glass panels except the largest frame. There is rubbing and wear to the green velvet insert on the frame with the cloth panel.
