Öl auf Kupfer. 22,4 x 13,8 cm (im überlängten Oval). Rest. min. besch. Rahmen besch. Vergleichbare, äußerst figurenreiche Kreuzigungsdarstellungen sind aus dem Schaffen des Louis de Caulery (um 1580 Caulery b. Kamerijk [?] - 1621 Antwerpen) bekannt. Charakteristisch für Caulerys Kompositionen ist die klare Aufteilung in zwei bildparellele Figurenreihen, die Vorder- und Mittelgrund definieren. Auch die minutiöse Ausarbeitung der Details (Gewänder, Gesichter) erinnert an die Werke dieses Malers, der stilprägend für die nachfolgende Künstlergeneration werden sollte. Provenienz: Aus dem Besitz der Nachfahren des Generalmajors Friedrich von Winther (1784-1857), Schloss Mühlfeld / Herrsching.
