. The Ford Thunderbird which was introduced in 1955, is a car produced by Ford and originally intended as a competitor to the Corvette which was a flop at the time. Although the Corvette was a nice racer, Ford did things differently: they built a sporty luxury car not intended for racing, but rather for cruising. It was offered as a coupé or as a convertible with a hardtop. It was an immediate success which was partly due to the fact there wasn’t much competition.

. This Thunderbird is in neat and original condition (hardtop, engine and transmission are all original) . The car starts immediately and idles nicely, shifts smoothly and with power through all gears and brakes properly. The engine compartment looks fresh and well-maintained.

. This Ford from the first generation of Thunderbirds is becoming more rare and harder to find, it is a true collector’s item! Especially the Thunderbird with the Continental kit (spare wheel) is rare and collectable.
