Four Chinese Qing Guangxu Mark Blue & White Porcelain Lotus Dishes A6WBC
Description: Four late Qing dynasty porcelain deep dishes decorated in underglaze blue with a central lotus blossom roundel surrounded by five to six lotus flowers among leafy scrolling tendrils. Three or four stylized bats decorate the back of three dishes. A blue six-character kaishu form Guangxu mark is on the base. Circa 1900.
Measurements: 9 1/4 diameter x 1 5/8 high each
Condition: Very good overall condition with fine scratches in the glaze from use, typical production imperfections, and some slight differences in the blue hue and the design of each dish. There are some scattered rim frits on the edges of two dishes. One dish has an unfinished lotus blossom.
Provenance: From the collection of a former American expatriate to Guangzhou and Beijing from 1983-1987.
