Wide-mouth jug with runny alkaline glaze, strap handle with maker's monogram, two incised lines at shoulder, base signed in script "Matthew Hewell / John 3-16 / Gillsville GA", stamped on one side near base "Hewell's Pottery / Gillsville, Ga"; 14"H---4.
