HE DIDN'T BURN UP THE COURSE BECAUSE HE'S A COMEDIAN AND NOT AN INCENDIARY..... , this lot also includes the 1952 and 1954 Stage Golfing Society Annual Dinner menu programmes from Nov 23rd 1952 and November 21st 1954, both featuring caricatures of Arthur Askey when Captain and President of the Club together with four further annual Dinner menus with cover caricature artwork by Harry Riley or Roy Ullyett for 1963, 1964, 1965 and 1967 [1 bag] Introduced to golf by Fred Wilden in the early 1930s Arthur became a keen golfer with a handicap of 15. Arthur was Captain of the Stage Golfing Society 1952 and President 1954.
