Framed Chinese Gilt Wood Carving, Late 19th Century

A large Chinese carved wooden diorama in a frame dating from the late 19th century. The diorama features a theater scene with eleven figures and a deer. A 3-character inscription is carved along the top.

Dimensions are: the diorama measures 13 inches tall X 23 inches wide, 33 cm X 58.4 cm, while the frame measures 22 1/2 inches tall X 32 1/2 inches wide X 8 inches deep, 57.2 cm X 82.6 cm X 20.3 cm. All measurements are approximate.

Condition: There are areas of loss and chipping to the surface as well as breakage and repair. The frame has chipping. A reminder that all lots are sold as-is.
