Lefaucheux pinfire revolver, hallmarked ‘EL 69’, 9 mm calibre, in perfect condition! 1958 model (with trigger guard) ‘Designed by Eugène Lefaucheux, this revolver was the most modern and advanced of its time. In 1858, this revolver was adopted by the French Navy, becoming the first metal cartridge revolver to be adopted by the State. Unable to keep up with all the production demands, both military and civilian, Eugène Lefaucheux therefore entered into a contract with the Weapons Factory of Saint-Etienne. ’ Folding trigger. Metal parts with original nickel plating. Fine engravings with vine leaves and foliate scrollwork on the body and barrel. Decorated octagonal faceted bolt. Gridded walnut wood butt (perfect gridding) Chiselled frame surface. Ejector rod and front sight are included. Buttcap rings. Can be fully disassembled with no problems. Clear percussion. Active rotation of the cylinder, good alignment, and the clicks are audible. Perfect air gap (no more than than the space of one sheet of paper) Existing markings: No. 755 on the side of the barrel: serial number EL 69 topped with a crown on the cylinder: marking on Lefaucheux weapons made in Liège, this one used by the Liège proof house from 1846 to 1893 (‘ELG’ inside an oval) letter ‘Y’ with crown --------------------------- Lefaucheux revolver hallmarked ‘EL 69’, 9 mm calibre with pinfire, in perfect condition! 1958 model (with trigger guard) ‘Designed by Eugène Lefaucheux, this revolver is the most modern and the most advanced of its time.
