France - 1850/1865 - A. GEREST - Manufacture de Saint Etienne - mousqueton long - mono canon - Percussion - Rifle - 17 mm

interesting long carabiner, muzzle-loading monobarrel in caliber 17 mm, signed by A. Gerest in St Etienne around 1850/1860 (gunsmith listed and exhibited at the Museum of St Etienne) , and the Clar brothers. good mechanical operation with 2 well synchronized positions and heavy percussion. - solid polished steel barrel, stamped with Saint Etienne, framed chamber, with its signs of use, small stains and old black powder corrosion, but remained in good condition. - plate and fittings in cut iron - light wood, oiled-waxed unvarnished, in its patina, with its small signs of handling and time, small crack on the left side of the barrel (old regluing) & probably old filling on the top-plate on the right side, but remained solid and in good condition - with his iron wand - shotgun remained mono-register n° 80 (barrel / breech / lock / hammer / trigger guard) non-new weapon, more than 150 years old, of beautiful design, solid, in its patina, with its small signs and scratches of handling, use and time, but remained in good condition and with good mechanical functioning (see photos showing parts of the description) . Shipment against signature with total insured value (very large parcel rate close to 2. 00 ml developed)
