Lovely officer’s pistol, late first empire or early royalty. Very meticulous weapon which has the features of a luxury weapon: the barrel is flared at the muzzle and is made of twisted damascus and mounted on a hook on the separate breech. The weapon is decorated in a series of garlands and has fine country or animal engravings. The butt has a silver crested thumb piece. Arquebusier Naudot a Autun (1845 1855) converted this flintlock pistol to percussion. He signed his work under the breech. Everything works perfectly, this pistol could still be fired today; excellent aesthetic and working condition. Like many weapons from that time, it has traces of a gunsmith’s intervention. A very nice flintlock weapon from the end of the first empire or very beginning of royalty, whose owner was attached to it and had it converted to a piston in order to continue to use it in the 19th century.
