1777 Cavalry pistol Flintlock pistol, 1777 model, known as a chest pistol, first type. Produced at the royal factory of Saint Etienne. Inspected by Lambert. It is complete with its partially oxidized but original belt hook. A rather rare piece, given the disaffection of the army of the time and the number of pistols manufactured. Number on the cap, could be the registration or serial number. No other visible markings. Holds both catches. Slight gap in the wood under the hook.
