Very interesting single-shoot rifle, in its large 12 calibre, pinfire system, hallmarked by Manufacture de Saint-Etienne, made in the second half of the 19th century. It works well mechanically, with two well-synchronised notches and very large percussion. Step-up/disengagement work perfectly with no play. - solid barrel with sides then rounded at the end, shortened (poaching, 19th century, see photos) in its homogeneous grey patina. - Beringer double key system. - semi-gridded burl walnut butt. - all the trims are made of discreetly engraved polished steel. Very interesting large calibre, nearly 150 years old, with handling marks and signs of wear, small lacks and scratches, old traces of corrosion, but still in nice condition and in good mechanical condition.
