French Pattern 1896 Cavalry Officer’s Sword Sword produced in national arms manufacture in Châtellerault in 1908. Very long (95cm) , service sharpened and well balanced blade. Typical inscription on the spine identifying place of manufacture, year and sword pattern. Bronze hilt with officers initials near the pommel. Horn grip. Hilt stamped “ESM St Cyr” for École spéciale militaire de Saint-Cyr (Special Military School of Saint-Cyr) . - total length: 112cm - blade length: 95cm - weight: 1093g - Po. B: 10cm
