INFANTRY RIFLE 1822 T Bis MR Saint Etienne/Chatellereault, good condition and signed, 1858/1866: Total length 1421 mm Barrel length 1029 mm Weight when empty: 4. 080 kg Calibre: 18 mm Metal parts: all the markings are clearly legible, no oxidation spots. Markings: "1822 T bis" on the breech tail, "Mre Royale de Saint Etienne" on the lock, "C de 18" on the left side of thunder, "Chatellereault" and sticker "MR 1838" on the butt (Manufacture Royale) . The barrel conversion was done in 1866 (the year under the lock) . This rifle was signed by a former owner (see photo) . Mechanism in perfect working condition, complete, the loaded and half-loaded positions are well-notched, no play. Note: this rifle has a rare additional notch on the half-loaded safety (the hammer needs to be pulled to release it) . Round grooved barrel, grooves are clearly visible but the barrel needs to be cleaned for firing. Wood in good condition (but there’s an old repair) , beautiful light shade, all markings are clear. Note: the grip has been repaired (an old break) , the repair was done very well and is very discreet. The rifle looks nice.
