Frances Farmer Signed Photograph
Promising American actress (1913–1970) whose career was cut short by alcoholism. She retired from films in 1942 and spent a large part of the remainder of her life in mental institutions, dying of cancer at 57. Uncommon vintage glossy 8 x 10 Paramount Pictures publicity photo from 1937, signed in fountain pen, "Sincerely, Frances Farmer." In very good to fine condition, with scattered light creases and surface scratches, a light vertical bend that just grazes her right cheek, and a slightly trimmed top edge.
