BIOGRAPHY:
Frank Palmieri, a landscape and seascape oil painter, has painted on location in France, Italy, Mexico as well as the U.S.Most of his career was spent living in New York City and Ogunquit, Maine where he had an art gallery, but in 1987, he moved to Indialantic, Florida.He was born and raised in New York City. After service in the Air Force during World War II, he attended the Art Students League on the G.I. Bill, studying under such noted teachers as Reginald Marsh, Ivan Olinsky, Robert Brackman, and Frank Reilly.In 1963 he won the Robert Lehman award, enabling him to study for one year at the National Academy of Design under Morton Roberts.Palmieri was a full-time artist with studios in Ogunquit, Maine, Long Island and New York City. He occasionally gave lectures on his art in the New York area.Frank Palmieri has won over forty major art awards which include: The Grumbacher Award for Outstanding Contribution to the arts, 1969; Veterans of Foreign Wars Award, 1968; Best in Show Malverne Artists, 1967; Best in Show, National Art League, 1966. He has had numerous one-man shows and his works are hung in many collections.
