Franklin - Brougham Serie 9B - 1919

[ translate ]

This completely original Franklin was purchased by us in 1977. It was delivered to Kings Park Inn Washington and then moved to the Franklin Automobile Collection at the Gilmore Car Museum in Michigan, United States of America. Which is where we were able to acquire it, and we subsequently moved it to Belgium in March of 1977. During these 43 years, the car has regularly been driven and it has always cherished, frost-free and heated, in our collection. In the 1920s, demands for more luxury and more comfort increased. Franklin's designer anticipated this very quickly, hence the result of this car. A wool interior. Tin-finished handles. Coat rack for vests. A rear shelf. A net for luggage. A compressor powered by the engine to inflate tyres. Central heating in the floor. Etcetera. This is a very unique unit considering the very few miles it has driven. The 6 cylinder - air cooled - engine starts and runs as it should. 3 forward gears and 1 reverse. Have a good look at the “split window” that makes these Franklins so very special. The "Owners instruction book" and the "Operation, care and adjustment book" will be included. The car can be viewed and picked up in Aalter, Belgium.
