A work in acrylic with thick layers of paint of which pieces were then removed again. It was made as cover for a collection of poems by Wichard Ragner. The collection was published mid 2016 by the publishing house The Office of Useless Art. Crumbled salt images. Protest against the individual. Manifest against the opposite. Take action! Resist! Ignore the opposite. Enjoy it. Complain as well. Long live civil disobedience! My way of emphasizing that by asking basic biographical questions, everyone involved knows that we live in a treason system. It feels like a serious digestive problem! Doesn’t it? Fred Michiels has been represented by the Antwerp gallery Eva Steynen since 2011, and since 2016 by The Office of Useless Art (Charleroi) – the latter also as a publisher of his poems and pamphlets under pseudonym Wichard Ragner and Ottist(F) reddy. The audio cassettes are issued by the Antwerp label Da Dist Tapes.
