French School: The canvas is taut on the stretcher, and the paint surface is stable on the support. There is damage to the canvas, particularly towards the edges and corners where it has been pulled over the stretcher. Corresponding holes to the canvas to all four corners, particularly to the upper left corner. Some paint flaking, particularly towards the edges, but also generally across the work. Further abrasions and corresponding paint loss in areas. Fine and settled craquelure in places. Significant dirt to the surface. British School: The panel is split horizontally across the top of the work, and is in two separate pieces. Further chips, losses, and dirty marks to the surface. These works are in poor condition overall.
